Like moving anything, I made more progress than I hoped and less progress than I expected.
I planned for about four hours, over two days, of teardown and cleaning — but going into the shop this afternoon, I thought that maybe I could get everything done in just two hours. While I don’t think I’ll need all four hours, it was silly to think I could accomplish everything in two.
So far, I’ve: pulled the handles off, the powerfeed from the X-axis, the DRO head and the quill DRO, the light, inverted the head for stability, started some basic cleaning of the grunge, and probably a few other things I’m forgetting.
I’m hoping tomorrow is just cleaning off some grunge and packing up the parts, but I’m sure it’ll be like any move: there will be far more to do than expected.
